Meet Magento UK – eCommerce conference for web designers

Posted Friday 14th Oct 2011 by James Bavington

Today, and probably for the first time, we’re going to start to talk about Magento and in particular the upcoming conference Meet Magento UK. The reason why we’ve not covered much Magento in the past is because our colleages Adam Moss and Rob Kent run a comprehensive Magento blog over at e-commercewebdesign.co.uk/blog. If you’re looking for Magento advice and tutorials, we’d definitely recommend heading over to their blog, and checking out the in-depth tutorials the guys are publishing on an almost daily basis.

So at Creare, we’ve been designing, developing and optimising Magento based websites for over 3 years. As a result James, Adam, Rob and I have all been invited to attend the upcoming conference – Meet Magento UK.

So what is Meet Magento?

Meet Magento is the official corporate event from Magento Inc and has been running since 2009 in Germany and The Netherlands, but this is to be the inaugural UK conference, which is on October 26th at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in London. One of the main reasons why we’re looking forward to attending is to gain an up-to-date insight into the future of Magento. At Creare – we’re very passionate about the Open-Source eCommerce platform, and with the recent acquisition of Magento by eBay, we’re keen to know how what’s happening in the future.

A lot of our clients that use Magento also sell their products on platforms like eBay, and several of these clients have been starting to ask us about eBay initiative with Magento that’s known as ‘XCommerce’. So it’s not just our development team who are excited to learn what’s going to happen with Magento and XCommerce moving forward, we’re hoping to gain a little insight as to how powerful Magento will be, now that it’s under the mighty wing of eBay.

If you’re as interested as we are, we’d definitely recommend checking out the Meet Magento UK website at meet-magento.co.uk. There are still tickets left and almost two weeks of time to convince your boss that it will be a worthwhile investment. Check out the schedule on the website, the conference will showcase the latest news about Magento, educational lectures for both merchants and developers and an exhibition area where you can speak to experienced eCommerce experts.
