Magento Live UK 2012 Highlights

Posted Friday 23rd Nov 2012 by James Bavington

Last week, Adam Rob and I were invited to attend the first MagentoLiveUK conference in London. So we wanted to take five minutes to share some of the key things we took from the conference. Similar to the format of last year’s Meet Magento UK conference, MagentoLive UK 2012 was a great conference with talks, networking and as always – the incredible Magento Aftershow Party. The day comprised of a whole range of topics spanning conversion rate optimisation to Load-Speed and Developer Certification to Mobile.

MagentoLive UK 2012 Key Points

And just to recap, our key takebacks from MagentoLive were, Magento is clearly the best Open-Source eCommerce platform on the market, It’s staying Open Source and Magento 2 promises to be incredible once it’s out of Beta. Don’t compromise on your hosting and Page Speed optimisation. If your pages take longer than 3 seconds to load, then do something about it otherwise you’re simply losing sales. And finally, it’s all about mobile. Don’t let low mobile conversion rates put you off the fact that well designed, responsive Magento sites are essential as over a third of UK citizens own a smartphone.

So that’s it for this week’s video, if you missed out on MagentoLive UK this year, you can find all of the presenter’s slides on the Magento Live website.
